As a long-time resident myself, I understand there are unique needs and challenges facing all of our communities, large and small, and that the best way to help people is to actively listen and put in the "elbow grease" to get things done.

Policies & Positions

Economic Development

I will work tirelessly to support local businesses, attract new investments, and create job opportunities for residents across our district.

Education

Every child deserves access to a quality education. I will advocate for policies that prioritize bringing state and federal dollars to all of the school districts and education service districts throughout Wasco County. As a member of the Community Outreach Team, I have been doing just that for many years. The tax payers of Wasco County deserve funding from the federal government to help make up for the reduction in timber harvest revenues that occurred because of decisions made in congress. We also need to continue to be vigilant that the state funding formula provides adequate resources for our smaller rural school districts and ESDs to provide competitive and substantially equal educational opportunities as compared to more populated parts of the state.

Social Equity

I am committed to advancing social equity and justice for all residents, regardless of background or circumstance. I will work to address systemic inequalities and ensure that everyone has equal access to opportunities and resources.

Health Care

The availability of affordable, quality physical and mental health care is essential to everyone. It seems that everywhere we look these days we see the impacts, of inadequately treated mental illness, on individuals AND entire communities. Not to mention, financial difficulties due to high medical bills are major contributing factors to bankruptcy and homelessness.
